Highway 261 starting at McAdam (just south of Washtucna) heading SE to Highway 12. Very light traffic, good twisties, great views.

When you cross the Astoria Bridge into Washington, turn left at the north end of the bridge and follow 101 through Chinook. Most people turn right and take Highway 4, turning left is much better. The road is in great shape, great views and twisties along the water's edge. Do not exceed your riding capabilites lest you find yourself in Willapa Bay; no room for error.

Highway 112 which starts about 2 miles west of Port Angeles. Serious twisties, a good number of sport bikes on sunny weekends. Follow Highway 112 through Clallam Bay, Sekiu, out past Neah Bay and to the trail head to Cape Flattery.

No trip through Washington would be complete without crossing over the North Cascades Highway (a.k.a. SR 20). A better view of the mountains is had by traveling counter-clockwise. Your view of the east face of the Cascades might make you think you're in the Rockies.

Check with Washington State Department of Transportation (www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/passes/northcascades) to ensure the highway is open as it is closed in the winter and early spring. This year the highway closed on November 17th, 2009. June, July, and August are your best bets.
