Remember for those new to the game - the Gold version requires 2 witnesses on each end, standard version only requires 1 each end.....

Bar at JOG officially closes at 11pm on weekdays (but likely people there til midnight, according to the barman!).  I'm staying at the Sunny Bank Hotel in Sennen again, only a 5 minute ride back to LE hotel to start, and I HIGHLY recommend it.  Half the price of the LE hotel, stayed there last year and the owner was wonderful - she had signed out 3 riders the day before, and was very familiar with the process.  Not so many choices in JOG  Seaview Hotel

Boss - great idea! Was already planning two E2E or E2EG with my two boys in July (one each - no sidecar!) and this would make them eligible for the special cert - great news.

it certainly would and they can come up on stage and collect them at the Presentation night, how cool would that be...

Ok finally got chance to look at this more and I'm delighted to announce that for either the End to End or the End to End Gold ride done during the 3 months of June, July and August, a full ride pack which covers verification and certification, Ride patch or pin, entry into the IBA certified rides list and at least a minimum donation to a to be agreed charity of £5, will cost you the rider only £18

These rides will also be 'fast tracked' through verification

A couple of points I think worth mentioning for anyone reading this thread who may not have read the ride rules.

For E2E and E2EG rides there is an additional form that needs to be completed from the LE Association which might influence what time you leave and arrive:
In addition to your start witnesses you are also required to obtain a stamped End to End verification form as issued by the Land’s End association. These forms are obtainable at either end and either the Groats Hotel or the Land’s End Hotel will sign, date and stamp them as additional proof that you are starting your ride

The form can be downloaded from:
http://www.landsend-johnogroats-assoc.com/Verification.doc
The JOG hotel is closed but the cafe may be open in the summer during the day. When I did the 4 corners ride in October the cafe was shut but the gift shop has a stamp for the form. The LE to JOG Assn website says that the Seaview Hotel will stamp forms too.

I also think it's worth mentioning this to any potential newbie thinking of joining in:
Note: you cannot attempt the End to End GOLD award unless you have previously completed an Iron Butt ride such as the SaddleSore 1000 or BunBurner 1500 or basic End to End.

She has been looking at other bikes, but is still very happy with her little Ninja.

Did consider a goldwing. But then she realised opening the windows on her car is just the same but narrower.
