I'm pulling my bl***y hair out here (well what bit I have that is ) waiting for the tank to arrive...................... and we're at the hospitail this afternoon to cap it off as LR's op looks like it is going wrong AGAIN!!!! :angry:

That looks a nice little project you've got there Ray.
It will be interesting to see how much it costs you all
in the end. I have an auxiliary tank for my FJR and had
a lot of reluctance to mess about with my main tank so
also ended up sourcing a second tank (from fleabay) with
which I could weld a fitting into to accept the plumbing.

I must admit though your new expanded tank does from the
limited photos look the Biz and will now save you the
grief of fitting a tank on the back just to get the same
mileage that GSA owners enjoy

Although not in the market for another bike, the only
thing putting me off the Super 10, Trumpet Explorer and
Honda Crosstourer are the less than brilliant tank size
compared to BMW. Maybe by the time I do have the funds
they will both do an 'adventure' version with bigger
tanks?

You should show it off to your Yamaha dealer once it's on
so they can see what they're missing out on

Well the tank as arrived at last and is in the garage all ready for fitting...........

The XT1200Z Tank Conversion Project as Landed

It's been a great Saint Georges Day here in Wardle

 

Next job is to get it fitted................ once I've been for ride to empty the bike
