So, after many setbacks before the ride even starts, it is now a go.  I will be leaving Rio Rancho, NM on Tuesday or Wednesday, and riding about 50 miles past St Louis, MO.

Monday I need to pick up my front fairing from the paint shop and run a few other errands.  I'd like to leave Monday evening, but I'll have been up all day, and that's not a good way to start.

My bike will ride in the back of my semi-trailer on the return trip.  I'm going to relocate one of my rigs to Albuquerque.  This whole trip will be tax deductible, bonus!

I try to make all my trips a business venture of some sort

...and I'm about ready to
leave. I went to sleep
yesterday late afternoon, with
no alarm set. I figured
whenever I woke up, I'd be
well rested.

The wind that had been
coming out of the west
changed directions yesterday,
and I'll have a pretty good
headwind to start.

Made it to Santa Rosa, the
wind had been pretty bad. I'd
been watching lightning to the
north/ northeast. I put on my
rain gear and topped off the
tank.

Got back on the road and ran
into a hail storm. I'm in
Cuervo now, probably leaving
soon.

Stroud, OK. My sidebox came
open earlier, lost my beef
jerky and the bag for my rain
geae. 600 miles down.

Better the bag for the rain gear than the rain gear itself! I live in
Wichita Falls, TX and know exactly where you're at. Stay safe with this
weather. You'll get it!

Joplin, MO. Fueled, now for
Taco Bell.

750 miles down. It helps that
I've run this lane hundreds of
times in the 18 wheeler. I'll
probably go all the way to
Evanston, IN and meet up a
day early with the wife and
kids.

Doolittle, MO. 935 miles
down. Fueled and gone.

7.5 hours to complete my SS.
Probably going to total 1200
miles today.
