Does anyone have any practical info on the LS2 FF386 Modular Helmet? I'm
in the market for a new mid priced ($200-$250) modular helmet and I
wanted to know If I should pay attention to this model.

Thanks

ADanger

I have the lime green hi-viz version. I think it stands out very well.

I took a lot of time deciding what helmet to purchase and many people
kept raving about this helmet. I would agree, for under $200, it's a steal.
The hinge mechanism and sun visor work very well. The fit seems to be a
little more oval shaped for my round head. It does pretty decent at
venting behind my tall aeroflow wind shield. It's nice that they included
some reflective stickers. I like that it's DOT and ECE rated and they have
very good online support. They seem to have been around for a while, but
just began producing their own helmets (instead of others). I also dig the
ratcheting style strap - much faster than a d-ring.

I'd try to find someplace to try it on, I'm a medium in most helmet sizes,
but found that it was just too snug. Good luck!

I have one as well (white) and have been wearing it close to a year
now.

I was really surprised at how comfortably snug the small was and how
quiet it was when combined with my inexpensive earplugs.

I bought the pinlock to combat fogging, though that doesn't stop the
internal visor or my glasses from clouding my vision. No leaks when
riding through heavy downpours and remarkable ventilation from the
front. Chin curtain does a good job sealing off wind coming up from the
bottom.

I'd say give it a try and see how it fits. Been a good helmet for me.

I've had one for 2 1/2 years. I loved it the first
year! Still think it was a smokin' deal when comparing
features, ventilation, comfort and ratcheting strap.

But, the old addage seemed to hold up. (If it seems
too good to be true ...)
The top vent stuck in the open position. I tried
EVERYTHING and finally got it closed. Next time I
opened it (out of habit) it stuck open permanently.

The biggest complaint was the padding at the bottom of
the helmet. The vinyl began cracking and
scraping/chafing my neck. One piece at time, it has
basically self-destructed. Nearly all the vinyl is now
gone, leaving foam and fabric exposed to get wet and
hold water. That became intolerable and I replaced it
about a month ago.

I'd plan on two good years out one...

Then again, maybe you'll have better luck,
Jeff
